I just stumbled on your website. I know that was not by accident.

 Praise God.  I rejoice with you in Kaden's recovery.  We serve a Great God!!  I pray that Kaden will continue his leaps toward a full and complete recovery. I do have a prayer request.  My best friend's son, whom I've known all of his life, has been diagnosed with a spinal ependymoma.  He is 47 years old.  He will have his surgery next month.   Please pray that the tumor is benign.  Please also pray for him that through this experience he will come to know Christ as his Savior.  Thank you so much for your website.  What a joy to read of Kaden's journey and how God has brought him through so much.  I'll continue checking back on your website to see how you and your family are doing.

i am so sorry to here about your little baby. i to  have a baby in the hospital.i am praying to god to help your baby get well very soon. i am sorry to here you are going through a hard time. sometimes in life the storm seems so hard and it seems like we will never get thruogh it. i think the hardest part is is saying "I will praise you in this storm and i will lift my hands" there has been meny times in my own persanale life that i have had to say that. i will not forget to pray for you and your baby and your family.                                                                                              God bless

Dear Pauli Family,

We were so excited to read your latest update and to hear how God has been mightily at work in your family.  How we  praise God and rejoice with you over:  Kaden's saying "watermelon" clearly, his being a ring bearer along with Jace in June, the removal of his port, his being cleared for a swallow study which showed NO signs of aspiration, and his moving to a new bed in preparation for the arrival of your newest family member, baby Macey! 

Incredible!  Know you're very busy right now, but do know we are praying for all of you. May God continue to guide and strengthen you, to heal Kaden, to encourage him in his learning to eat again and to make this a time of great joy and blessing as you welcome baby Macey.

Hello Dave and Kristen, we are happy to hear that all is well with you. I am sending you information in the mail regarding the St. Jude Fundraiser on Sept 24th at Champions Run Golf Course and Dr. Merchant will be attending again this year.  We plan to have each of the families introduce themselves this year and have the kids holding a sign of what St. Jude means to them, so we really hope you can make it, 8 families in attendance would be really great. After the event the familie have suggested that we all go somewhere to celebrate, hopefully that would work for you.  Look for the information or call / email me.

I just happened upon this site, so I don't know the details of Kaden's plight. I DO know that our God is bigger than anything! So my prayer for you is this: Kaden, God knows the plans that He has for you and they are for good and for you to prosper. He knows all of your thoughts,so believe that He cares, and knows everything that you and your family is going thru. Lift it all up to Him, let God be God and handle all of your trials and tribulations for the Battle belongs to the Lord. We don't know the reasons things happen, but we do know that we have a loving Father and a loving Son, Jesus Christ who is constantly interceding for us.So lift your hands high and praise Him for every moment that you have together. Watch and see what the Lord will do!. Amen..

I received your website thru Russwood Chrysler.  My husband and I were interested to see who won the van and or skittles :-)  I ended up reading most of your journals.  I was very touched and will be praying for your family.  I have an 8 yr. old daughter, a 5 yr. old daughter and a 1 yr. old (22 Mo.) old little boy named Jaden...alot of similarities.  It really has made me stop and think of  the times Ive complained and times Ive felt so hopeless and to thank God for all he has blessed us with..  We moved here from out of state after my husband lost his job with the airlines and we just so happen to live right near Lincoln christian school.  Thanks for sharing your story and your faith with us. God Bless you and your adorable children!

I came across Kaden's site via the boy you rode with on the airplane...God does work in mysterious ways.  His dad, Lyle, was a huge support to us when our 10 year old daughter was diagnosed with a medulloblastoma brain tumor. She went through 2 brain surgeries, radiation and chemotherapy as well. Praise God she is 14 now and remembers very little of it all. It is a blessing that Kaden will probably remember none of what he is going through, but will be a strong individual because of it. My daughter, Bethany, is amazing because of her experience. I know it is heartbreaking as a parent to helplessly  watch your child be poked and prodded and not be able to explain why to him. Children should be exempt from pain. But we know all things work together for good for those who love the Lord. We will pray for your strength and remind you that there are miracles still at work and many many survivors of cancer. Just read the 10/17 update.  I praise our Father for the report from the Occupational Therapist.  Still praying for complete healing, restoration and developement of swallowing and all other functions.  I praise God for the "blessings from the body" you experienced down there this time.

What a brave little warrior!

I found Kaden's website through another child's and had to sign in a say hello.  I read through the journal and Kaden is one tough little guy that puts a stamp on the phrase, "beating the odds!"  My son, Jake, is 9 and almost 3 years in remission from Ewing's Sarcoma that he had in his skull.  We are from Omaha and were treated at Children's (Dr. Abromowitch is our oncologist), and Dr. Pucionni was one of Jake's neurosurgeons also.   Jake's odds for survival were very slim when we first found his tumor, but he is another example that miracles happen everyday.  We hope and pray that Kaden's miracle continues.  Keep up the good work, Kaden and Family!  I hope we get to meet you sometime soon!

...at the Junior High Music Concert, Mrs. Loy led us in a closing prayer, mentioning your family and others with health issues.  "Where two or more are gathered..."  Please tell Mr. Kaden that we are so proud of his courage (in a godly way :) ) and pray that his wonderful Heavenly Father will be very near to him during his tests tomorrow.  I trust that the body of Christ down there will do its usual great job of loving on all of you while you are away from home.  Grace and peace

Hey Kaden,

We will be praying for you about your tests on the 17th. We are so glad you are walking some now and are starting to get into things, cause that's a good sign. (maybe it's not so great for Mom and Dad, but you just keep going and trying) We will also be praying for you throat and vocal cords. Besides having one of the cutest smiles I've ever seen, I know you will have the best laugh to go with it!!

Caleb was just rescanned and they think he could have a new tumor or it's maybe scar tissue or something from the radiation he had. Dr. Furman told us he had no idea what it is. We have to be watching for any new symptoms or problems, but I know there are not going to be any, because God is not going to let this be a problem! He said he would know more when he is scanned again in a few months. He will continue chemo till March, then have a bone marrow transplant, then he'll go through another round of radiation on his lungs and ribs. So, he's still got a long road to hold, but God is with us every step of the way and He's the Great Physician and Healer and I know He takes care of His children and Caleb loves Him so!! (and we do too!!)

God is so good.  Think of how many times we fall short, yet God forgives us and continues to work with us and use us to spread His Gospel.  Romans 8:28 comes to mind as my wife and I pray for your family.  I cannot imagine how difficult it is to go through such difficulty, yet Jesus can speak to your hearts through the Holy Spirit and bring that peace that passes all understanding.  We will continue to pray for you.

It was a great joy and privilege to meet Kaden and Kristin today.  I have seen Stacea and Jace around school.  To see you together as a family---as if the past 10 months had been normal---gives me cause for great praise and rejoicing!  The smiling faces of your three precious children, the peace in the faces of Kristin and Dave...miracles all.  May God be praised!  Kaden's big brown eyes, chubby cheeks, and ready smile would evoke praise any day but to see them now knowing some of what he has endured since last Christmas...WOW!

May God's faithfulness be your reason to sing.  May His lovingkindness be your source of hope.  May His glory continue to be your goal.

Dear Kaden, you are so brave, and so is your family.  I met you at St Judes when my son zachary was there for a recheck.  Our God is so Big and He holds you close, and Jesus knows the pain you go through with all the trachea stuff!  Zach was in the hospital last week with a major line infection but back in school.  He is done with chemo, and we pray that he, and you, and other cancer friends keep getting stronger and better day by day.  Love you Kaiden.  Mom, I pray for you as well. This morning, Kristen is on my heart.  As I consider the blessing that routine can bring with children returning to school, I am wondering if you are feeling the "craziness" of being unable to have routine as you used to know it.  The hymn, How Firm a Foundation, was a tremendous comfort and encouragement to me this morning and I pray that it will be for you to as you deal with "life."

How firm a foundation, ye saints of the Lord

Is laid for your faith in His excellent Word

What more can He say than to you He hath said

To you who for refuge to Jesus have fled

 

"Fear not, I am with thee:  O be not dismayed,

For I am thy God, and will still give thee aid;

I'll strengthen thee, help thee, and cause thee to stand,

Upheld by My righteous, omnipotent hand.

Hi Kaden and Family,

We will be in prayer for Kaden and his ear and trach situations. It's a crime to the whole world if he doesn't feel like smiling because his ears hurt or he's having trouble with his trach. God is the Great Comforter and Healer and He will help you and give your parents strength to get through all of this and not let things get bad. He loves to take care of His children. This is why it's a comfort to me that I know I can call Him not only my Father, but I can call Him PaPa too. Stay safe and well and I'll keep checking up on Kaden.

Caleb is doing well and off his first round of radiation. He was elected class president and is going to school as much as he can. We are having to be really careful about this. Well, tell everyone Hello and let us know when you will be back at St. Jude. I pray the doctor's will be able to come out and say, Hey, Kaden is healed and all is well"! Praise the Lord! Dear Kristen and Dave~ It is so good to hear that Kayden is doing great! As you know, as soon as I got home from Memphis with Caleb, life just seemed so, so busy. Today is the first I've gotten a chance to visit Kaden's site. It is wonderful! I wanted you to know that after being switched around several times for Caleb's follow-up trip to Memphis...we, too will be at St. Jude October 16 & 17. Dr. Merchant seems to be travelling quite a bit these days, and we definitely want to be able to see him when we go. Caleb is very happy to be home. He is doing great...speech and physical therapy a couple times each week, along with the routine Dr. visits. I had to put in a new g-button two weeks ago when his balloon burst, but other than that things have been pretty uneventful. Uneventful in a good way! I feel I must share with you that the follow-up visits are never easy. We go each time with open hearts to whatever the results will show, that God will provide the grace and courage we all need. Hey Guys!!

It was a wonderful blessing to read that Kaden got a good report and you all will get to go home!! God's touch is so awesome!! Please have a safe trip home and let us know every now and then how he's doing. I'll keep looking at your website too. Here's Caleb's website address again for you:  www.caringbridge.org/visit/calebhughes    He's been having some problems with his radiation (some skin breakdown), but he's doing ok with it. They said it was a blessing, in a way, that his back is numb, because he would be in misery. They are trying different ways to get it healed up, so it doesn't get infected. If it did he would have to stay in the hospital longer for IV Antibiotics and he's not happy about that thought.

Well, God is Good and all will be well! Take care and God bless all of you!! Tell Kaden to keep smiling!!

His power has given us everything we need for life ....2 peter 1:3   Dear Dave, Kristen, stacea, jace, and Kaden....we are thinking of you alot and praying for each of you that peace and joy may be yours.  We are at our hospital in wichita getting a blood transfusion this morning.  Zach was initially pretty angry about it, but is doing better.  We went outside and played in the dirt during his cross and type and it really helped him feel better to play and get dirty.  Brian and I have read your story and think you all are so strong, and know that the Lord has given you the strength that you need.  I often think of Jesus holding zachary close to his heart and now I also think of him holding Kaden as well. Think on today only, look at the joy of the moment.  God reminds us not to look into the future and it is wise instruction.  Use your energy for now, God is in the future and is preparing you for what lays ahead.  We love you with Christian love, Lori, Brian, Zachary, and Joshua Kennell from Newton Kansas.

Although it has been too long since I have sent well-wishes, please know that I am continuously checking for updates.  There are hundreds of prayer warriors that I alerted months ago, and they are still praying for Kaden and your family.

The grandson of friends here in Dallas is going through a similar battle as Kaden.  Thomas' ependymoma was found around the same time as Kaden's, and the two boys are only a few months apart in age.  I often read many similarities between Kaden's and Thomas' struggles on the websites for both babies (www.thomasbickle.com).

Continuing to pray for you all as Kaden finishes radiation, heads home, and school resumes.

Moment by moment acceptance of God's will and the grace to accomplish it tests the "spiritual muscles" used in letting go and accepting.  I pray that yours will be strong!!!  Even though He has proven Himself so good and able, it is still hard for me to just accept and cooperate in some areas, especially when it comes to my children.  Therefore, my prayers for you are from a heart that would fail miserably in this area were it not for the gracious work of the Holy Spirit.  May you be strengthened, encouraged, protected and provided for in every way.  May He be glorified!!!

With the assistance of friends and family, Hailey, Matthew, Taylyn, Melanie, Dylan and Riley - we worked (and played) together to raise $18.26 for Kaden.  It was so fun to watch the kids really enjoy helping someone and having a meaning for their afternoon.  They felt useful and helpful.  Many of our customers said they planned on checking out Kaden's website.

Our bible verse this week at VBS was...

            1 Corinthians 16:13,14  Be on your guard, stand firm in your faith,be men (and women) of courage, be strong and do everything in love.

We continue to pray for Kaden and will stay in touch via this site.  I will pray hard that he stays healthy throughout treatment.   I was always afraid Peyton would get sick and then she would miss a day of radiation b/c they would not be able to sedate her.  She stayed healthy all the way through as I am confident Kaden will too!  We leave for Peyton's Make a Wish trip to Disney World on the 12th, so we will all be thinking of Kaden on that day.

Dearest Pauli family...As I read through your updates, it brings back such a flood of emotions for our family.  Our daughter, Khloie reminds us a lot of Kaden.  When I was reading about his low oxygen level and you guys going home on oxygen and a stats monitor, I can remember how extremely overwhelmed we were with our "new normal".  If you recall, Khloie has a trach, shunt, G-tube and central line...just like Kaden.  We too pray that the secretion issue will resolve itself and both Khloie and Kaden can enjoy the taste of "real" food again.  The joy of toteing around a suction machine and spare trachs tends not to last real long.  We will be back at St. Jude for another scan on June 19th and hope to meet you in person.  Kaden sounds like a real trooper.  St. Judes is a wonderful place! 

You will all remain in our prayers!
